After opening her own bed & breakfast in Baler, Quezon two years ago, it seems actress Glaiza de Castro’s love for the outdoors continues to grow despite her busy showbiz career. The 37-year-old actress, who married her Irish husband David Rainey in Ireland in 2021, shared her most recent adventure with her hubby on her Instagram account last July 14.

In her post, Glaiza shared snapshots from their weekend day trip to the Masungi Georeserve in Rizal province. She wrote, “Sunrise done right. We began our day at 1.30 am which is an unusual hour to wake up on a Saturday; but this one was so worth it. We started our trek in the incredible @masungigeoreserve at 4 am; our target sunrise at the top of the trail.
"We wound our way up the route guided by red torch light as not to disturb the diverse wildlife here. The steps carefully placed to wind upwards between towering limestone silhouettes.
"Our guide EJ was so knowledgable, every plant has a story and the birdsongs which change in meaning as sunrise approaches.
"The view from the top was other-worldly and we looked down on the clouds blanketing the landscape.
"To top it off we transferred to a nearby platform where 2 friendly guides had prepared us the tastiest breakfast of ube champorado, fresh fruits, turon, hot chocolate and local tea.
"This side of the top overlooked Metro Manila in the distance. The beauty of nature so close to the busy city and developers slowly creeping closer to the Reserve reminds us of the amazing work @anndumaliang and her team do and how we need to help them fight this amazing cause. Thank you for the experience. Highly highly recommend.”

A nature lover by heart, Glaiza shares her adventures outdoors on her social media account when she is not busy in showbiz. Last May, she shared a reel after a day of surfing in Baler, Quezon. She wrote, “Back in the water, finding balance and waiting for the wave that’ll remind me how it feels to ride again. Sulit naman kahit isa langπ”

Earlier this year, Glaiza also shared another goal off of her bucket list as she overcame her fears to ride a horse for the first time. She wrote, “New week, new year, new opportunities to grow—starting with learning to ride horses. Some of you know I’ve always been a bit scared of dogs, but I’m embracing the challenge of facing even bigger fears. Here’s to living life to the fullest,”
