Whenever she’s not busy with showbiz, Maris Racal said that one of the things she likes to do to reward herself is solo travel.
“I actually love to travel. I don’t know why but I love to travel, I love the process of it, I love the packing part and going to the airport alone. I just travel alone and I rarely have solid plans. So it’s just whatever. Like I’ll go to a city and I’ll stay here for five days and I don’t know what to do. I hop from one city to another, so ganun yung style ko when I travel,” she shared during the Maya Black credit card event launch in Makati City.
The 27-year-old actress and former Pinoy Big Brother housemate also shared her best tips for fellow solo travelers like her. “Make sure to secure yourself, geo tag yourself with your siblings. Yun talaga.”

After embarking on her first business venture, a coffee shop called SOC: Stream of Consciousness, in San Juan, La Union last year, Maris said she has definitely matured when it comes to handling her finances.
“Nasa point ako na kailangan ko ng maging serious and more intentional with my spendings, like where I put my money. So where I invest in, who to work with, who to trust with my money. Parang kinikilatis ko na. Dati kasi I was so young, hindi pa ako wise sa spending ko. Now, very intentional na,” she explained.
When asked what her most valuable investment has been so far, the pretty actress gave a candid answer, “I’ll be very honest with you, yes I started small businesses pa muna like a cafe in La Union. I really try to invest in myself first because I am my first business!”

As one of the new celebrity ambassadors of Maya Black, Maris also shared what she loves most about the product she is now endorsing.
“What I seek talaga when I travel is airport lounges and I love how I can use this to access nicer airport lounges. When they presented this to me and when they talked about miles and all, I was like okay, okay. But when they mentioned airport lounges, sabi ko G, let’s go! (laughs) Immediate yung reaction ko because when I traveled dati parang the lounges so inaccessible but now I can access it. I can read there and sleep while waiting for my flight. that’s really what I love about Maya Black,” she admitted.
