Actress Marian Rivera has been recognized as one of the top taxpayers of the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s (BIR) Revenue District Office No. 41 (RDO) in Mandaluyong City.

The actress shared glimpses of the recognition ceremony in an Instagram post on October 1. According to her plaque, the recognition covers the first semester of 2026.

"#PagkilalasaNatatangingTaxpayer," she wrote in the caption.

The BIR RDO No. 41 in Mandaluyong City also honored Marian in a social media post, commending her compliance as a taxpayer and contribution to the community.

"A true queen leads by example," the office wrote."Bawat pisong ibinabayad sa buwis ay may ambag sa mas magandang kinabukasan. Maraming salamat, Ms. Marian, sa pagiging inspirasyon, huwaran, at katuwang sa pagbuo ng mas maunlad na komunidad."

In an interview with PEP.ph, Marian said she was "very grateful and honored" for the recognition, emphasizing that its significance goes beyond receiving an award.

"Para sa akin, higit sa award, fulfilling malaman na sa simpleng pagtupad natin ng responsibilidad bilang taxpayer, may naiaambag tayo sa ating bansa at sa kapwa natin Pilipino," she said. "It's something I'm truly proud of."

Marian also used the recognition as an opportunity to encourage fellow Filipinos to take their responsibility as taxpayers seriously.

"Ang pagbabayad ng tamang buwis ay responsibilidad nating lahat. Every contribution matters, big or small."

She further encouraged Filipinos to continue fulfilling their obligations honestly, noting how these individual contributions can help shape the country's future.

"Sana patuloy nating gawin ang ating bahagi nang tama at tapat, dahil sa sarili nating paraan, nakakatulong tayo sa pag-unlad ng ating bansa at sa mas magandang kinabukasan para sa susunod na henerasyon," she maintained.

Aside from Marian, several other celebrities were named as top and responsible taxpayers in the past several years, including Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, Anne Curtis, Manny Pacquiao, Coco Martin, Kris Aquino, Jennylyn Mercado, Dennis Trillo, Catriona Gray, Vice Ganda, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, and Sharon Cuneta, among many others.
