American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson has announced that her daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, will be coming to an end after seven seasons.

On her personal Instagram page, Kelly shared that she has decided to step away from the show to focus on motherhood.

“This was not an easy decision — but this season will be my last hosting TKCS (The Kelly Clarkson Show). Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” Kelly revealed.

Kelly shared two children — River Rose and Remington — with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. The two were married for nearly seven years before she filed for divorce in 2020, which was finalized in 2022. Brandon died in August 2025 at the age of 48 following a battle with skin cancer.

The American singer-songwriter expressed heartfelt gratitude to the team behind her successful talk show, as well as to the guests and viewers who supported it throughout the years.

“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at TKCS, both in Los Angeles and New York. There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talents and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show, and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner,” she wrote.

Kelly clarified that her departure from the show does not mark a farewell from the entertainment industry. She shared that she plans to continue making music and appearing on various programs, including her return as a coach on The Voice, alongside John Legend and Adam Levine, for its Battle of Champions edition in Season 29.

“This isn't goodbye. I'll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time...you never know where I might show up next,” she remarked.

Concluding her message, Kelly thanked viewers who supported the show throughout its run: “But for now, I want to thank y'all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.”

Kelly rose to fame after winning the inaugural season of American Idol. She is known for hit songs such as “Since U Been Gone,” “Stronger,” “Because of You,” and “Breakaway,” among others.

She launched The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2019 as an American daytime television variety talk show featuring celebrity guests such as Ariana Grande, Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson, Ellen DeGeneres, Christina Aguilera, Elle Fanning, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Hart, Jim Carrey, Selena Gomez, Matthew McConaughey, Lily James, and BLACKPINK’s Rosé, alongside segments highlighting “everyday people.”

The program also introduced the popular opening segment Kellyoke, where Kelly performs cover songs requested by audience members, and typically ends with her participating in fun activities with her guests.

Over the years, The Kelly Clarkson Show has earned 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four for best daytime talk series and four for Kelly as best talk show host.
