Veteran comedian-actor Smokey Manaloto is set to welcome another bundle of joy as he announced that his partner Cassie Brazal is pregnant with their second child.
The actor took to Instagram on March 26 to share the news, posting a series of photos that included a positive pregnancy test, a baby onesie with the words “coming soon,” and a sonogram of their child. Also featured in the post was his firstborn, Kiko, wearing a shirt that read “Big brother finally!” signaling the growing family.
“Akala namin alam na namin ang pagmamahal… pero eto na naman, mas lumalalim, mas lumalaki. 🤍,” he wrote.
“Our hearts are growing again as we welcome our second little miracle. Hindi lang pamilya ang nadadagdagan—mas dumadami rin ang dahilan para magmahal habang buhay.”
The celebration extended beyond social media as Smokey also organized a reunion gathering his former co-stars from the iconic sitcom Home Along da Riles, including Claudine Barretto, Nova Villa, Gio Alvarez, Boy2 Quizon, and Vandolph Quizon. What initially appeared to be a simple reunion turned into a surprise pregnancy and gender reveal, where the couple shared that they are expecting a baby girl.
Smokey and Cassie welcomed their son Kiko in 2022, a milestone that drew attention as the actor embraced fatherhood for the first time at the age of 51.
More recently, he opened up about parenting during an interview with Boy Abunda, where he revealed that Kiko has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
“Pero, every milestone alam mo, napapansin ko nga na 'yung ibang tao, they take for granted 'yung maliliit na bagay na nagagawa ng anak. Pero for a parent who has a kid who's under the spectrum, the small things mean a lot. Kunyari, natuto siyang mag-sign language, nasa-sign language niya ang buong alphabet, it's a big deal sa amin,” he said, underscoring how even small achievements hold deep significance for their family.
He admitted that discussing the experience remains emotional, but emphasized the depth of his love as a father. “It's very emotional for me to talk about it. Pero, I really, really love my kid kahit na ano pa siya,” he added.
Through these experiences, the actor said he has learned to see value in moments that others might overlook. “You truly appreciate the little things na nagagawa ng anak mo. Sa iba, ang liit na bagay na iyon. Pero sa iyo, parang napakalaking bagay na 'yon para sa iyo.”
“Nagkaroon talaga ako ng anak when I was 51. Tapos napakasayang parte ng buhay ko 'yun. Tapos parang ayaw ko namang itago 'yun,” he said.
He added that being open about his journey was also meant to inspire others. “Naisip ko rin na para hindi mawalan ng pag-asa 'yung ibang mga kaedad ko na pwede pa rin, pwede ka pa ring magkaroon ng anak at your age,” he said.
