Veteran talent manager and showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz confirmed that he has parted ways with his talent, Aiko Melendez, earlier this week. In his latest YouTube video, he explained that there was no bad blood between them and the veteran actress parted ways with him respectfully through a message.
Ogie shared that Aiko wanted to concentrate on her political life which he respects as politics isn’t his forte when it comes to managing.

“Maganda rin naman yung paghihiwalay namin. Hindi ko na po minamanage si Aiko Melendez. Si Aiko Melendez ay maayos na nagpaalam through Viber, through message, na magcoconcentrate siya sa politics at yung mga gusto niyang mangyari sa buhay niya–– mga gusto niyang direksyon, mga gusto niyang tahakin sa pulitika ay magawa niya,” he explained.
“Syempre, tayo naman hindi naman tayo ang manager niya sa politics. Although, kumbaga, 80–percent ng buhay ni Aiko ay sa politics at 20 lang yung sa movie career niya. So pinayagan naman natin at inallow naman natin–– ganun lang ang buhay,” he added.
He was then asked if their political views played a part on why they separated. Ogie is known to be vocal about his support towards former Vice President and now-Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo while Aiko has been supporting Vice President Sara Duterte.
“Isa na rin yun. Magkaiba kami ng kulay sa pulitika ni Aiko. May mga bumibira sa kanya, bakit hindi kami magkasundo sa kulay niya. Ganun din naman sa akin, bakit daw hindi kami magkasundo sa kulay ko. Dapat daw kakulay ko si Aiko or kakulay ako ni Aiko. Hindi naman kami para pagtibagin kung ano mang kulay sa pulitika,” Ogie candidly said.

Despite their opposing political views, Ogie maintained that they are still friends outside of it and their friendship will remain.
“Basta ang importante, maayos kami naghiwalay ni Aiko kahit itinext lang niya sa akin eh okay lang din naman. Hinayaan ko nalang din siya,” he asserted.
“Andito lang naman ako kung kailangan ni Aiko. Pag kailangan niya ng payo, kung gusto niya meron siyang balikat na iiyakan, andito lang naman ako as always,” he ended.
Aiko previously shared on her Facebook account about ending her professional partnership with Ogie but assured that they remain friends.
“Always grateful Ogie, for the friendship, trust, and memories we've shared and will share. Mahal pa din kita alam mo yan mader,” she previously said.
