Veteran talent manager Shirley Kuan broke her silence after professionally parting ways with one of her talents, Bea Alonzo, earlier this month. In an interview with the media earlier this week, she denied that the Kapuso actress is her cash cow in the showbiz industry.

Shirley and Bea have worked together for nearly six years before parting ways with one another.

In the interview, the veteran talent manager asserted how insulted she was with the speculations and rumors thrown at her on social media about Bea being her cash cow. She denied the accusations and shared how she’s been in the industry for such a long time already.

“The problem is dapat nagtanong sila bago nila ako sabihan. I find that very insulting ah. Parang tingin nila sa akin pulubi, diba? Na parang pag wala na si Bea sa akin, magugutom na ako,” she maintained.

Shirley added that she never ‘cheated’ her talents from their talent fee and won’t become poor even if Bea is no longer in her roster of artists.

“At tsaka, tanungin niyo kahit sino dito sa showbiz, more than 30 years na ako dito. Meron bang magsasabi sa inyo na magugutom ako or nagharbat ako ng pera or I cheated my artists out of their talent fee–– meron bang ganun?” she said.

“Meron bang impression sa showbiz na mahirap ako? I just want to make this clear ha: Bea did not make me rich nor will she make me poor. So, stop calling her my cash cow. I have bigger stars that I’m handling who are busier than her,” she asserted.

In the same interview, the talent manager revealed that she wasn’t supposed to break her silence but she was rather forced to tell her truth due to the rumors going around.

“I felt offended. In Tagalog, binastos ako at nabastusan ako. Siguro naman at my level, I don’t think I will allow that being done to me. Maybe others won’t react the way I do but I react the way I react because I have self-respect and I have value for my integrity and dignity,” she claimed.

Bea has yet to respond as of writing.
