Jorrybell Agoto, the lead actress of the 2026 film Filipiñana, has been admitted to the Critical Care Unit as she bravely battles with cancer. In a Facebook post made by her family and friends, the actress has fluid in her lungs which is making breathing difficult for her.
Filipiñana is the Philippines’ official entry to the 99th Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film. Jorrybell plays the role of Isabel, a 17-year-old worker at a posh country club, where she sees the disparity between the rich and the poor.

“Our beloved Jorrybell is currently admitted to the Critical Care Unit at St. Luke’s Hospital, bravely fighting through a difficult chapter in her battle against cancer. At present, her lungs are filling with fluid in the pleural area, making it difficult for her to breathe. She currently has a Blake drain to help manage the fluid and support her condition,” the post read.
As she continues to fight and get treated, the family and friends are asking for financial support to help ease her burden as the costs are rising.
“This is a heartbreaking and challenging time for Jorrybell. Her treatment, hospital stay, procedures, medications, and other medical needs continue to bring significant expenses.
“We humbly ask for your help. Any amount you can share will make a meaningful difference in Jorrybell’s fight. If you are unable to donate, sharing this post with your family and friends would also mean so much to us,” they shared.
The family expressed their gratitude for the support and prayers that Jorrybell has been receiving and maintained that any amount given to her is greatly appreciated. An Instagram page was created for the updates on the actress’a condition.
“Every donation, every share, and every prayer gives Jorrybell and our family hope and strength to keep going. Please help us give Jorrybell the chance to continue her fight,” they ended.
Jorrybell also just celebrated her birthday last September 25. Friends and co-workers made sure to celebrate her special day as they hope for her fast recovery.
