SexBomb Girls member Cynthia Yapchingco, OPM icons Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera, and other industry personalities paid tribute to producer Susan Lim, who passed away this September.
In a social media post, Cynthia mourned the loss of her partner, recalling their years together and the love they shared.
“One of my greatest blessings will always be our love and journey of us together. Thank you dahil napatunayan natin na we stayed together for better or for worse, that laughter is healing, and love is greatest legacy na pwede nating iwan behind. I hope until the very last day, naalala mong maram kaming nagmamahal sa'yo,” she said.
“I know heaven welcomed you with open arms, surrounded by everyone who has been waiting na makita ka ulit,” she added. ”My Babe Lah, I love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow. Thank you, and I love you. Rest in peace.”
Cynthia also shared a wedding photo of them together, saying no words could capture what Susan meant to her.
“No words could ever capture what she meant to me… or the heartbreak of saying goodbye. May the love and beautiful memories you shared bring comfort through the pain, and may her light remain with us always 🤍”
Photo Credit to @susanlim1008According to her post, Susan passed away last week, September 14. Although no details have been revealed as of this writing, family and friends extended their condolences to Cynthia and Susan's family.
“Our deepest condolences, sending lots of hugsss for you Miss Cy, we love you our strong girl 🥹🤍,” a friend wrote.
Fellow SexBomb member Johlan also said, “Our deepest condolences. Hinahanap kita kanina. After photo-op @cynthiayapchingco.”
On her end, singer Pops Fernandez remembered Susan not only as a fellow producer but as a close friend whom she had known since the latter was fresh out of college.
“Producing concerts wasn’t just her work—it was her passion. She had this incredible courage to take on things that seemed impossible, and somehow, she would make them happen,” Pops shared.
Pops recalled some of the major projects Susan worked on, including the Michael Jackson concert in the Philippines. (She also produced the first F4 concerts in the country during the height of the Meteor Garden craze.)
“I have memories of the concerts Susan produced, but one that will always stay with me was the Michael Jackson concert. Many may not know that it happened because of Susan. We all stood in the mud at the reclaimed area, where MOA now stands, just to witness the King of Pop. Looking back, that was so Susan—bold enough to dream big and crazy enough to actually make it happen,” she expressed.
“Susan left her mark on the industry. But for me, her greatest legacy will always be the people she touched along the way.”
Pops also shared how she will always remember Susan, who she called her Chinese Boss: “She was loud—really loud—but in the funniest, most lovable way. 😂 She could disappear for months, then suddenly check on you as if no time had passed. That was Susan. She had her own way of making people feel that they mattered.”
“I will never forget the laughter, the memories, and the friendship. To everyone who knew Susan, let’s take a moment to say a prayer for her. Thank you, Chinese Boss, for everything. You will always be remembered, and you will always have a special place in our hearts.”
Martin, meanwhile, shared in the comments section of Pops’s post how Susan had been part of his career for many years, including helping revive his tandem with Pops and taking them on US tours.
He also recalled first meeting Susan when she was still a student who approached their office with hopes of producing a show for him.
“She was one of a kind. And such a generous person. She also believed in both of us so much so that she helped revive our tandem and took us on a us tour. More than once if I am not mistaken,” he shaed. “Ever since that day Susan has never left our corner. Such unforgettable memories. And as a producer she never did us wrong. Never. She will tell you like it is even if it hurts.”
Still, Martin said he wanted to remember Susan more as a dear friend than as a concert producer: “Even though we were always far away from each other we always remained close. And now she will be the furthest away from us she has ever been and I pray she is at peace.”
He ended his message, saying: “Susan was a good person and was always good to us. Rest na Susan. We give you now a well deserved standing ovation as you now go on your new journey . 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼.”
Dancer and Jopay Paguia’s husband Joshua Zamora also expressed his condolences, remembering Susan as someone who touched the lives of many through her work and kindness.
“I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear about her passing. My heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones. May God give them strength, peace, and comfort during this difficult time,” he wrote.
“Thank you for sharing these wonderful stories. Truly, she was a person to remember—not only as a producer, but as a dear friend to so many. I will also always be grateful to her for connecting the SBOMB Girls group to NY. Her kindness and contribution will always be remembered and appreciated. May her beautiful legacy live on in the lives she touched. 🙏,” he added.
