Bea Borres candidly admitted that she blocked her longtime friend Andrea Brillantes after reconnecting with her former boyfriend, Meray Yamada.
The actress opened up about their friendship during a conversation with fellow content creator Benedict Cua in his latest vlog, where she explained that she knew Andrea would not approve of her decision to continue making content with Meray, the father of her daughter Hopea.
"Ni-block ko si Blythe," she said candidly.
"Alam ko na sasabihin mo, ibo-block na lang kita. Magu-unblock-an rin naman tayo," she added, referring to Andrea.
Benedict then asked Bea if she blocked Andrea because her friend does not approve of her decision to reconnect with Meray, saying: "Ni-block mo siya dahil hindi siya boto sa ginawa mo?"
"Oo, alam ko na eh," Bea replied.
The remarks stems from Bea and Meray recently reconnecting and creating content together. Andrea had previously stated that she was not going to join people in shipping the two.
Bea acknowledged that she understood where Andrea was coming from, but said she plans to continue with the content for the meantime because it generated higher monetization.
"'Yung mga kino-comment naman ng people, hindi na bago 'yun eh...Antayin niyo na lang na mabili ko 'yung gusto ko at titigil na ako. Promise,” she said.
Despite admitting that she blocked Andrea, Bea made it clear that they are still friends. "Blocker ako. Pero kasi alam mo 'yun? Kapag sa friendship kasi, if you've reached a level na para na kayong magkapatid, [kahit] mag-away kayo wala na kayong sorry [kasi] after five minutes okay na. Ganon 'yung level of friendship namin."
"We don't hate each other. Nagkaka-inisan lang. Kaya block na lang [kita]," she added.
Bea also expressed how much Andrea has meant to her throughout her personal journey, particularly as she entered motherhood.
"I really wouldn't be where I am without her. I don't like utang na loob pero grabe talaga 'yung utang na loob ko sa kaniya...lagi ko rin talagang sinasabi na naging tulay ko siya kay God, naging inspiration ko siya sa lahat,” she maintained.
When Benedict asked if her love for Andrea had ever faded despite their disagreements, Bea was certain about her answer: "Hindi talaga."
Bea then addressed Andrea directly, assuring her that she understood her friend's concerns and promising that she would eventually stop making content with Meray once she reached her financial goal.
"Sis, I know naman what you're saying. Totoo naman. Hindi ko naman dine-deny, totoo naman talaga lahat. I just really want to buy something. Hanggang sa mabili ko, promise I'll stop na,” she said.
Andrea has been among the friends who have remained by Bea's side throughout her journey. The two have also shared a close bond with Hopea, with Bea even joking that Andrea serves as the baby's "dad."
Bea did not specify which platform she used to block Andrea. As of writing, however, the two still follow each other on Instagram.
Andrea has yet to publicly comment on Bea's latest remarks.
Meanwhile, Bea was also open about why she continued creating content with Meray despite initially wanting to stop.
"Ayoko nang ituloy. I don't want to do it anymore kaso nakita ko umangat 'yung monetization...I was like, 'Sige na nga. Hanggang sa makabili ako ng gusto kong asset. Titiisin ko na.'"
When Benedict asked what the asset was, Bea chose to keep it a "secret" for now.
"Pero ang hirap, Kuya Ben. I'm going to be honest, totoo 'yung mga comments...Hindi totoo na kinikilig ako. [Pero] kasi, tatay siya ng anak ko so I''ll always have a soft spot for him kahit na 'yung disrespect nung pregnant ako [is] grabe," she said.
Bea also said that Meray was not present for her and did not provide financial support at the time of her pregnancy. She clarified, however, that he now provides financial support.
"Ngayon, I don't have to beg for the sustento which is dapat lang, the bare minimum. Pero I'm so grateful for it," she maintained.
