A new Wonder Woman movie is currently in development.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Superman director and DC Studios head James Gunn revealed, "Wonder Woman's a separate thing."
The filmmaker noted that the project is "slow moving, but it's moving." He added, "We're working on Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman's being written right now."
James also shared that the role of Wonder Woman has yet to be cast in the new DC Universe.
He also addressed comments made by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, who emphasized Superman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, and Batman as key pillars in the superhero universe currently being developed by James and DC Studios co-head Peter Safran.
"I think that's accurate, actually. I think that he got that from something I said. I wouldn't say only those four characters, but I would say that those four characters are incredibly important to us. Right now, I feel great about where two of those characters are, and then we're dealing with the other two," he stated.
The previous Wonder Woman movie was headlined by Gal Gadot.
Meanwhile, James alongside Superman stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult will be going on a global press tour, with the Philippines set as their first destination. "Superman is coming to a city near you," they teased in a recent post.
The Manila fan event will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall on June 19. Producer Peter Safran will also join them in the said tour.
"This project is more than just a movie to me. It's a story about humanity, about what it means to be a hero in a world that doesn’t always make it easy to be one," James said in a press release. "I can't wait for you to see it. The heart, the action, and the incredible performances from David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult and the entire cast."
