In the late '90s, one of the most popular American teen drama series on television was a show called Dawson's Creek. It s storyline revolved around the lives of a group of friends who grew up in a small and fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts. The series was broadcast on ABS-CBN’s Studio 23 within the same year and was shown locally every week until 2005.
Since the show ended in 2003 after a six-season run, the entire cast is reuniting for the first time in 22 years for a good cause.
Cast members James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe, and Busy Philipps are all set tol be part of a special “Dawson's Creek Class Reunion" event at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City on September 22.ā According to a report by The New York Post, the cast will be doing a live reading of the show’s pilot episode which was aired on January 20, 1998.

The fundraising event is being held in support of Dawson's Creek lead actor James Van Der Beek and the F—k Cancer with the proceeds going to them both. The 48-year-old Dawson's Creek star was diagnosed last year with stage 3 colorectal cancer.
In an interview with Variety, cast member Michelle Williams gave some insight on why they decided to come together again in the event that doubles as both their reunion and fundraising. “We grew up in Capeside and that's a bond that will last a lifetime. We wanted to gather around our dear friend James and remind him that we are all here. We always have been and we always will be. And I know the fans of Dawson's Creek feel the same way,” she told Variety.
Prior to this event, Dawson's Creek alumni Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson (who played iconic on-and-off again couple on the show Joey and Pacey) also announced they are currently working together onscreen again in the upcoming movie Happy Hours which was also directed by Katie and scheduled for release next year.
She wrote on her Instagram post, “I am so very grateful to be working again with so many of my wonderful friends on this film HAPPY HOURS. And working with Josh after so many years is a testament to friendship. HAPPY HOURS is a love story that includes so many people I adore. We can’t wait for everyone to see what we make.”
