MANILA — Kapamilya actress Xyriel Manabat was recognized as best actress in the full-length category of the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival for her role in “Stuck on You.”
Manabat stars alongside River Joseph in the romcom directed by Mikko Baldoza.
“Sobra lang talaga gratitude namin… Salamat po nakita na pasok tayo para lumahok bilang best actress. We are rooting for others also…Yung proceso sa pag buo ng movie [na-enjoy ko,” she said in an interview during the green carpet of the awards night held in Quezon City, Wednesday.
Juan Karlos meanwhile took home the Best Actor award for his performance in “Mono no Aware” with co-star Momoko Kobayashi bagging the Best supporting actress title.
“Mono No Aware” emerged as the festival’s big winner, taking home multiple awards including Best Director for BC Amparado, Best Ensemble, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Design, the International Jury Award, and the top prize, Best Picture or Pinaka Panalong Pelikula.
Festival director Chris Cahilig said the 2026 CinePanalo Film Festival exceeded expectations this year, drawing bigger crowds, selling out more screenings, and receiving strong reviews for its lineup of films.
“This is a dream come true for us. Ang dami sold-out screenings hindi lang sa malalaking artista o popular— pati mga art house films puno ng tao sinehan,” he enthused. “I was shocked may gani, late afternoon and evening screenings lahat ng pinapanuod namin sold out. It has been consistent.”
According to Cahilig, they have also received inquiries from different distributors and teased some movies are set to join international film festivals.
