The Black Eyed Peas shared a nostalgic moment at the 2026 American Music Awards as Fergie reunited with the group onstage to accept the Best Throwback Song award for their 2010 hit, “Rock That Body.”
During the group’s acceptance speech, Filipino-American member apl.de.ap thanked fans around the world for supporting the song’s resurgence.
“Thank you for all the fans around the world who voted for our song 'Rock That Body.' Maraming salamat. Mahal ko kayo! Mabuhay ang mga Filipino!” apl.de.ap proudly said.
Meanwhile, Taboo acknowledged the song’s hip-hop roots and the group’s enduring bond, adding: “We want to acknowledge that we sampled a great legend in hip-hop, Rob Bass. Let’s make some noise and honor him. It also feels so good to be up here with my brother will.i.am my sister Fergie Ferg and apl.de.ap. I also love my family right there!”
will.i.am also expressed gratitude to longtime mentor Jimmy Iovine and praised Fergie during the emotional reunion: “I’d like to thank our mentor, my personal mentor Jimmy Ivine, my best friends here for believing and this awesome, powerful, fearless queen Fergie.”
Fergie, meanwhile, became emotional as she reflected on reconnecting with the group and seeing the song resonate once again through fan-made content online.
“What a moment! I want to thank all of the fans for voting for this so I could stand up here right now with my longtime friends and brothers, the Black Eyed Peas, in honor of this special song, this era, ‘Rock That Body,’ brought so many memories along the line,” Fergie said.
The singer also thanked supporters who continued creating TikTok and Instagram videos featuring the song over the years.
“I want to [say] thank you to everyone who made TikToks, and Instagram videos, and made this moment possible so my son would put our song on his playlist,” she quipped.
“To all of our supporters who have made content throughout the years, thank you so much. Sometimes the content you make is so big and the feelings, it’s so big for me and overwhelming to look at with so much love you put into it.”
On their social media page, Black Eyed Peas shared a full circle moment returning to the American award show and receiving an award as a quartet once again.

Black Eyed Peas was one the acts who received an award from American Music Awards 2026. K-pop supergroup BTS bagged three major awards including Artist of the Year, Song of the Summer for "SWIM” and Best Male K-pop Artist.

Another Filipino artist also received an award as multinational girl group KATSEYE, which Filipino artist Sophia Laforteza is part of, was named New Artist of the Year as well as won Best Music Video for “Gnarly” and Breakthrough Pop Artist.
Filipino-American Bruno Mars also won Best Male R&B Artist, Best R&B Song for “I Just Might” and Best R&B Album for The Romantic.
Other awardees also include Sabrina Carpenter, Zara Larsson, Tyla, Shakira, Justin Bieber, Cardi B, SZA, and Bad Bunny, among others.
