Japanese-American singer-songwriter Mitski is heading to the Philippines on July 14, kicking off the Asian leg of her ‘Nothing's About To Happen’ world tour at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The concert follows Mitski’s sold-out run in Australia, where the indie artist performed back-to-back dates at the Sydney Opera House from May 29 to June 1.

After the Philippine show, Mitski will continue her tour with performances in Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Yuzawa.

The Asia leg of the tour marks the final stops for the ‘Nothing's About To Happen’ world tour, which began last March 2 in New York and continued with dates across America, Europe, and the UK.

The singer-songwriter first broke through with the release of the ‘Bury Me at Makeout Creek’ album in 2014, which featured fan-favorite hits such as "First Love / Late Spring" and "Francis Forever." Mitski’s reflective songwriting and distinct sound through these songs have been able to establish her presence as a well-celebrated artist in indie music.

In 2023, Mitski gained mainstream recognition with "My Love Mine All Mine," featured in the album ‘The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We.’ The song became a global hit, earning millions of streams across platforms.

Ahead of the Manila show, Mitski delighted Filipino fans on June 9 with the release of Filipino Lyric Videos of her songs: "Your Best American Girl," "I Bet on Losing Dogs," and "Once More to See You."

On the Filipino Lyric Video of "I Bet on Losing Dogs," fans took to the comments section to express their appreciation.

“I really love that this isn't a word-for-word translation, the song was beautiful articulated in Filipino without losing its original context,” one commented.

On the "Once More to See You" Filipino lyric video, a fan mentioned: “Whoever did the tl (translation) for this is genius... every syllable of the Filipino lyrics matches up exactly with the melody and original lyrics, so you can literally sing along in Tagalog.”

The release of the lyric videos was done to celebrate the 10th Anniversary edition of Mitski’s album ‘Puberty 2’ and accompanies Spanish and Portuguese lyric translations of the same songs, as well as official covers to One Direction’s "Fireproof" and Frank Sinatra’s "I’m a Fool to Want You.'

As anticipation continues to build for Mitski’s concert, fans who have yet to secure tickets for her Manila stop still have the chance to see the singer-songwriter live. Tickets for Mitski’s July 14 show at the SM Mall of Asia Arena remain available for purchase.
