Sophia Laforteza will sit out the European and UK leg of KATSEYE’s upcoming The Wildworld Tour as she continues to focus on her health and well-being.
On Instagram, HYBE and Geffen Records shared an update regarding Sophia’s upcoming schedule, announcing that she will not be joining the group’s shows in Europe and the United Kingdom
"Sophia is focusing on her well-being, and the company remains fully committed to providing her with all the support and resources needed. Sophia will not be participating in THE WILDWORLD TOUR in Europe and the UK scheduled from September 1 through September 17," the statement read.
The label emphasized that Sophia’s health remains their priority and asked fans for their continued understanding and support.
"We sincerely ask for EYEKONS’ warm understanding, as our highest priority will always be the health and long-term well-being of our artists. We will share further updates as they become available. Please continue to send your love, warmth, and support to Sophia and KATSEYE," they added.
Following the announcement, Sophia also took to social media to pen a heartfelt message to fans.
“I can’t express enough how much I want to participate in this tour and perform for you all. I have to remind myself every day that our health and mental well-being should always be prioritized," she said.
The singer also revealed that she has been undergoing treatment as she works toward getting better.
"When I show up for you, I want you to get the best version of me. I’ve been in ongoing treatment and doing everything I can to stay healthy, occupied, and happy. You can’t pour from an empty cup. It’s important to care for yourself," she relayed.
Sophia went on to express her gratitude to everyone who has been supporting her during her recovery.
"There’s been nothing but love and support from the company, my members, and everyone else around me as I work to get well. I can’t wait until I return and share the stage with my sisters again. They’re gonna put on an extraordinary performance for you, EYEKONS. Trust me, I’ve been watching, and they’re absolutely giving!" she stated.
The singer concluded her message, saying: "See you soon, EYEKONS. I love you all so much. Thank you for understanding. ❤️"
