While the rest of the Magtibay household rushes to where Gabo (Coco Martin) is after learning from their neighbors that he has gotten into another fight with the armed men whom he encountered a couple of nights ago, Betchay (Irma Adlawan), who has just woken up, is left behind at their house.
As she often wakes up grumpy, Betchay is completely in high spirits that morning upon realizing that she’s already a millionaire! The moment she opens her eyes, Betchay exclaims, “Good morning, P1 million!” before hurriedly getting out of bed to check the P1 million she tucked away in a hamper.
It can be recalled that Betchay received the money from Max (Arci Muñoz) the night before as a reward for completing her mission of getting Rudy (Joey Marquez) to sign the settlement papers that the Jacinto family needs to finally acquire Ginintuang Lupa and drive out its illegal settlers.
She can’t help but get kilig upon the thought that she has P1 million, as she usually wakes up worrying about where she will get the money to cover her household’s needs. But now, her only concern is where to keep, invest, or spend the money she has in her hands.
While she has yet to decide where to put her money, Betchay leaves her room and realizes that she is home alone. She can’t help but lose her temper when she finds that no breakfast has been prepared. This leads to a monologue, in which she reflects on what she has done—something she clearly does not regret, even if it means losing the home they have been living in.
With nothing to eat at home, Betchay decides to simply dine out, thinking that she truly deserves it after living in poverty and making sacrifices for Rudy for so long. She returns to her bedroom, takes selfies while holding a bundle of cash, then revels in her wealth by scattering them on her bed and lying on top of it—just like the rich people she has seen on TV.
As she takes delight in having so much money, Betchay happily remarks that this must be what peace of mind feels like as she continues to play with her cash.
