Starting Saturday evening on a promising note, the Songbayanan Events Hosts and Performers earned a 14-second head start by correctly guessing seven lyrics to Morissette’s “Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka” during the “Sing in the Blank” round of the Kapamilya community singing game show, “Everybody, Sing!”
After selecting a fresh batch of “song-pu” to play in the following game, “Everybody, Sing!” host Vice Ganda took an interest in a “repre-sing-tative” named Coco Mardy and struck up a conversation with the clown performer. Despite the many job opportunities opening up for him, Coco shared that he kept finding himself drawn back to his passion for making people happy.
He added that entertaining people has been therapeutic for him, helping him relieve stress whenever his problems become overwhelming. Touched by his contagious optimism, Vice affirmed Coco’s sentiment by reflecting on her own experience as a veteran host and performer, saying that she, too, finds an escape in performing.
As he explained the origin of his name, Coco Mardy told Vice how people often point out his resemblance to "Hari ng Aksyon sa Ating Henerasyon" Coco Martin. Amused by his story, the Asia’s Unkabogable Superstar joked that she wasn’t in the mood to fool around as she quipped, “Kahawig mo naman si Coco. No’ng pinasabog siya sa 'Probinsyano,' gan’yan hitsura niya.”
Along with the other chosen players from the Songbayanan, Coco Mardy and his team put their lyric-guessing skills to the test during the “LipSing” round. They were tasked with reading the lips of comedians Iyah Mina and Petite as they tried to determine the missing lyrics to Sarah Geronimo’s “Tala.” Later on, the Songbayanan Events Hosts and Performers earned an additional 14 seconds, bringing their total to 28 seconds heading into the Sunday jackpot game.
