Queer love takes center stage in the iWant Original dating series “Sparks Camp.” The Philippines’ first queer dating reality show returns for its fourth season with bolder campfire confessions, playful dares, and kilig moments that spark something deeper than romance.
As Season 4 promises more fun and excitement, the spotlight turns to one camper who’s ready to shake things up. Meet Drag Queen-sation Ian, a proud Igorot drag queen on the search for their chinito king.
Ian is eager to meet new people, share their stories, and listen to the experiences of those around them. With their openness and vibrant personality, they’re ready to bring their own brand of charm, confidence, and authenticity to the camp—and perhaps find a connection that goes beyond the sparks.
Outside the glamorous world of drag, where they shine as Empy Radora, Christian “Ian” Lubrica is a 23-year-old, 5’7” performer from Baguio City. They discovered their attraction to boys as early as age six, but kept their sexuality hidden throughout elementary school to protect themselves from bullying.
Though they were afraid of how others might perceive them, Ian found unwavering love and support from their father, a former Philippine Military Academy (PMA) professor. Their dad even told their relatives that if Ian turned out to be gay, the only thing he could do was stand by his child and support their choices.
Years later, Ian chose to forgo college and pursue a career as a full-time drag artist. They first lit up screens with their online performances during the pandemic, eventually joining House of Nak, a group of Filipino drag queens that includes “Drag Race Philippines” alums Matilduh and Tiny Deluxe.
Now embracing their identity as a gay, non-binary femme, Ian steps out of their drag persona to join the fourth season of “Sparks Camp.” They’re searching for their “pahinga”—someone they can connect with romantically, share their work rants with, and build a genuine relationship with beyond the nightlife and drag scene.
Behind the entertainer’s loud humor and “kanal” wit is someone who also wears their heart on their sleeve and cries easily. Beneath their playful exterior, Ian simply longs to be loved and hopes to find their ideal match inside “Sparks Camp.”
