Getting invited to “Gandang Gabi Vice” was already a dream come true for JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith, but landing a guest spot as early as the second episode of its comeback season just made the moment even bigger for the loveteam.
Well, they definitely made the most out of it. From kilig confessions to unexpected revelations, JM and Fyang gave us a guesting that was fun, unfiltered, and seriously one for the books.
But before all that happened, ABS-CBN Studios caught up with the two to ask what they were expecting from their first “GGV” experience. Then, right after taping, we checked in again to see if reality lived up to the hype.
The nerves were there, sure, but excitement won. Before stepping onto the “GGV” stage, both JM and Fyang were just thrilled, with Fyang saying that she'd always wanted to be interviewed on the program. As she put it, “Hindi buo ang journey ko kung hindi ako na-GGV.”
They were such huge fans of the show that they even had their own favorite episodes. JM loved the hilarious guest appearances of Bayani Agbayani and Long Mejia, as well as the Piolo Pascual-Empoy Marquez episode. Fyang’s pick, meanwhile, was that historic episode where a lie-detector game helped get Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil a.k.a. LizQuen to confirm they were officially together at the time.
Going in, they expected the interview to be chill, more like a candid late-night chikahan than anything too formal. JM also braced himself for the hot seat and suspected Vice Ganda might squeeze out some tea from them.
And well, his prediction was right. Meme Vice managed to get quite a few revelations out of the pair, from JM confronting a director who allegedly disrespected Fyang and an actress reportedly inviting JM to drink privately in her room, to, of course, their real feelings for each other.
After the taping, JM and Fyang were asked to describe the whole experience in one word, and they both answered “chaotic” at the exact same time. 'Kilig' enough that they were completely in sync, but Fyang was also leaning on JM’s shoulder while saying it, which made this moment even cuter.
JM admitted that the “Deep Truth” segment, a.k.a. the portion responsible for some of the wildest, juiciest tea that night, came with mixed emotions. Fyang, meanwhile, felt good about how organic the episode went, “I feel like ‘yun ang pinaka-natural kong interview sa lahat.” Both of them were comfortable enough to laugh, react, and say things they probably didn’t expect to reveal going in.
