After three successful seasons filled with self-discovery, and unexpected connections, “Sparks Camp” returns with another batch of campers ready to embark on a different kind of journey. Since 2023, the country’s first queer reality dating show has brought us stories of love and growth—and now, Season 4 promises new beginnings, emotional twists, and undeniable chemistry.
Hosted by Camp Master and resident matchmaker Mela Habijan, the newest season welcomes us back with familiar feelings and a set inspired by the vibrant, laid-back vibe of probinsya life by the beach. Adding to the charm, a pet piglet stole the spotlight on one side of camp and was lovingly named “Sparkypops” by the campers.
As we follow the campers through their first encounters and the connections that begin to take shape, let’s rewind to the scene-stealing highlights from the first episode of “Sparks Camp” Season 4.
Introductions and first connections
Without wasting a moment, the campers of “Sparks Camp” Season 4 make their much-anticipated entrances. Leading the way is “Mr. Explore-actor” Tommy, followed by “Drag Queen-sation” Ian, who struts into the villa and immediately commands attention.
Joining the lineup is “Daddy-sirable Cutie” Beej, a proud father of two daughters. Next to grace the camp is “Japinoy Charmer” Taku, who currently resides in Japan. He quickly hit it off with Ian, Beej, and Tommy, playfully bantering with the trio before they settled in and got to know each other through casual conversation.
The “Babyboy Next Door” Michael soon joined the group, quickly turning heads with his impressive 6’1” height. Not long after, the “Gen Z-incere Lover” EJ sailed into their quarters. Michael was instantly drawn to EJ’s warm presence and welcoming smile, while Taku recognized him as a familiar face as the two already followed each other on Instagram.
Keeping the energy going, the “Shy Achiever” Jury quickly warmed up to the rest of the campers. The last to enter was the “Walkin’ Conyo Heartthrob” Joaquin, who arrived with a mix of nerves and curiosity as he met everyone for the first time.
Mother Mela Habijan made her grand entrance in a stunning Filipiniana dress. Not long after, she unveiled the latest addition to the camp: a private space called “Momol Land,” where the campers can freely express themselves—whether on their own or with fellow campers.
With this new space now part of the camp experience, viewers can look forward to fun, candid, and bold conversations in the episodes to come.
From camper clash to sweet rewards
To test their chemistry, the campers dove into their first challenge: the traditional fiesta game “Agawang Buko.” Divided into pairs, they had three minutes inside the arena to chase down and secure the coconut. Whoever held onto it when the time ran out would win the round, while the final camper standing would take home a special reward.
Tommy and Beej kicked things off, followed by a face-off between Ian and Joaquin. The third round saw EJ and Taku in a heated clash, while Michael and Jury kept things light during their turn.
To determine who would claim the prize, Beej and Ian went head-to-head in the semi-finals. Cheers erupted as EJ and Jury entered the arena for the next round, setting the stage for the final face-off between EJ and Ian.
After an intense match, EJ emerged victorious and earned a special reward: buko juice, which he could share with a camper of his choice. He chose Taku, whom he described as a “very cute guy.” With the sweet gesture adding another spark to their connection, we’ll have to see how EJ and Taku’s bond unfolds in the next episode.
Moment of Truth: Quirky confessions
For the season’s first “Moment of Truth” with Mother Mela, the campers shared funny, embarrassing, and silly dating experiences from their past. They then guessed among themselves who was behind each secret, leading to playful revelations and plenty of laughs.
The stories ranged from Taku traveling miles away to meet up with his ex-partner, to Tommy making a cheeky remark that offended a religious guy he was getting to know. Joaquin, meanwhile, recalled thinking he was being hit on by a girl, only to find out that she was asking on behalf of her gay best friend.
Next up, Ian recalled how he once flirted with a guy, only to be called “ate” and “mama.” Jury admitted to pretending to be a girl just to talk to his crush on the phone, while EJ confessed to forgetting the name of the person he was actually on a date with. Embarrassing as these moments were, each story came with its own lesson as the campers opened up and moved forward.
Closing out the final two secrets, the spotlight turned to Beej, who revealed that he dislikes receiving gifts from his partner, and Michael, who admitted that he enjoys it when a guy plays with his hair. Both proudly owned up to their quirks.
The “Moment of Truth” wrapped up with heartfelt realizations and sparks of curiosity, as the campers grew more intrigued by one another.
Why “Sparks Camp” Season 4 is worth watching
The episode ended with a nerve-wracking twist: their first “Sparks Giving.” Each camper handed out one “spark” chip to someone who had caught their attention that day. The chips were anonymously dropped into their respective baskets, locking in their choices.
Tension filled the camp as everyone cast their picks, leaving viewers eager for the reveal: Who gave chips to each other? Who ended up with an empty basket? And who received more than one chip?
