MANILA — Villaroman Golf Academy is building a new golf and pickleball facility at Megaworld Corp.’s 140-hectare Maple Grove township in General Trias City, Cavite, expanding the development’s sports and leisure offerings.
The 2.7-hectare facility will feature a 50-bay driving range, golf hitting bays and golf simulators. The driving range will be designed to replicate actual course conditions, with areas for practicing on natural grass and artificial turf, as well as fairway, bunker and grass areas.
The facility will also include a dedicated short-game area with actual bunkers, three tournament-grade pickleball courts, a players’ lounge and a golf-specific gym for fitness and training.
Other amenities will include a sports retail area, restaurant and sports bar, and cafe.
Villaroman Golf Academy will offer instruction for players of various levels, from beginners and enthusiasts to competitive golfers. Programs will focus on building fundamentals and developing technical skills.
The academy is led by founder and head coach Carito Villaroman, a former touring professional who has mentored Filipino golfers including Yuka Saso and Bianca Pagdanganan.
In addition to player instruction, the academy is accredited by the Games and Amusements Board to certify professional golf coaches in the Philippines.

“These new additions form part of our vision to continue building Maple Grove into a township that offers more than residential and business spaces, giving the growing community greater access to recreation and lifestyle experiences closer to home,” he said.
The golf academy is part of Maple Grove’s expanding mix of sports, retail and dining establishments. Existing facilities include The Tent at Maple Grove, a biking and jogging track and a futsal field, while its 35-hectare commercial district continues to add retail and business establishments.
Located along Governor’s Drive, Maple Grove is connected to Metro Manila through the Manila-Cavite Expressway and Cavite-Laguna Expressway. The township is being developed as a mixed-use community with residential, commercial, office and institutional components, anchored by its commercial district and integrated parks and open spaces.
