MANILA — The Department of Justice said it is now on the final stages of the legal review being conducted on the extradition request of the United States government for Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
Quiboloy is wanted in the US for various criminal cases such as sex trafficking of minors, fraud and money laundering.
The religious leader is currently detained in Pasig City jail for qualified human trafficking and child abuse.
“Nagli-legal scrubbing na lang kami, we are almost ready to file that petition, of course the Philippines would comply with its obligations under the Extradition Treaty with the United States,” Vida said.
Vida however refused to give a timetable as to when will Quiboloy be finally extradited to the US.
“Tandaan ninyo maraming factors iyan eh, may abogado ang kabila at may husgado na magtitimbang ng lahat ng panuntunan,” Vida said.
