Marcos congratulates BARMM’s Macacua for successful conduct of polls. FB/Bongbong Marcos
MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. congratulated Interim Chief Minister and Bangsamoro Federalist Party (BFP) Chairman Abdulraof Macacua on the successful conduct of the inaugural Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections, Malacañang said Thursday.
Marcos Jr. met with Macacua on Wednesday, September 23 in Malacañang.
Macacua’s BFP garnered the most votes in the polls, securing 16 seats for the Regional Parliamentary Political Party and 15 seats for district representatives.
Discussed during the meeting were “the way forward for the newly elected BARMM Government, including the continued implementation of development programs and delivery of essential services for the Bangsamoro people.”
“The discussion likewise covered the continuation of the normalization track of the peace process to sustain the gains of peace and development in the region,” Malacañang noted.
Also in the meeting were Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo, and Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government Jordan Bayam.
