PARIS, France -- Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler could be out for the rest of the NBA season after suffering a serious right knee injury, US media reports said.
Butler was helped off the court after falling following a collision with the Heat's Davion Mitchell during Golden State's 135-112 win over his former team Miami on Monday.
The Warriors said the team would provide an update on Tuesday after waiting for results from an overnight MRI scan.
But multiple media reports suggested that Butler, a six-time NBA All Star, had torn his anterior cruciate ligament and would not play again this season.
"We're all really concerned but we'll know more after the MRI obviously. We don't know anything at this point," said Golden State coach Steve Kerr.
"Everybody is subdued because of the injury waiting to hear the news."
The 36-year-old Butler has averaged 20.1 points a game in his first full season at Golden State since joining from Miami last year.
