MANILA (UPDATED) — De La Salle University made easy work of University of the East, 112-87, to return to the win column of UAAP Season 89 men's basketball on Sunday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The Green Archers broke away late in the first period to snap their two-game skid and mark their second win in four games, with Mason Amos leading the charge with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field.

"We just discussed how unpredictable this season will be, and we came from back-to-back losses, but with us, it's focusing on our own race to get better as a group," said La Salle head coach Topex Robinson, whose squad posted the highest-scoring game by a team this season.

Jacob Cortez was just as impressive with 15 points, Mikey Cortez followed with 11 points in 15 minutes of game play, while Andrei Dungo and Joaquin Tovera each scored 10 points for La Salle, which shot an efficient 44-of-84 (52.4%) from the field.

Also stepping up was Henry Agunnane, who pushed the Archers' lead to its biggest at 28, 103-75, midway through the final frame before finishing with 11 points, nine rebounds, a steal, and a block.

Toper Lagat was the Red Warriors' lone bright spot with a career-high 30 points — the most scored by a player this season. His effort went for naught, however, as UE suffered its 25th straight loss dating back to UAAP Season 87 in 2024 and fifth straight in as many outings this season.

Mo Tanedo added 14 points for UE, while Gene Carillo and Kean Dungca scored 12 points apiece in their virtual wire-to-wire loss.

The Scores:
