Kristel Macrohon painfully came up short of a podium finish at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
Macrohon's total lift of 227 kg was only two kilograms behind eventual bronze medalist Ingrid Grueso of Bahrain, who tallied 229 kg, in the women's 69 kg class Sunday at the Nagoya City Trade and Industry Center.
The Filipina weightlifter had a better result (102 kg) in snatch over the Bahrain rep (101 kg), but she could not sustain her performance in the clean and jerk, where she cleared 125 kg in her third attempt.

Grueso lifted 128 kg in just her second attempt in clean and jerk, enough to edge out the 2019 Southeast Asian Games gold medalist from the Philippines.
North Korea’s Kuk Hyang Song was unstoppable, lifting a total of 273 kg for the gold and a world record, while Chinese Taipei’s Wen-Huei Chen captured the silver medal with a 232 kg total.
