MANILA — Filipino boxing star Eumir Marcial is set to put his undefeated professional record on the line as he faces Mexican-American knockout artist Omar Ulises Huerta.
Set for September 19 at Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California, Marcial was ecstatic to face Huerta in what will be a 10-round middleweight undercard bout for the Isaac Cruz-Nestor Bravo main event.
“I’m proud to represent the Philippines on this big stage,” Marcial wrote in a social media post. “Pilipinas, samahan n’yo ako sa laban na ’to. Para sa bayan!”
Marcial enters the bout with seven wins in as many outings, including four knockouts.
His most recent professional fight was in October 2025, when he survived two knockdowns en route to scoring a majority decision over Venezuela’s Eddy Colmenares at the Araneta Coliseum.
The 30-year-old also represented the Philippines at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok last December, where he won the country’s lone boxing gold medal.
Meanwhile, Huerta presents another tough task for Marcial, as the Mexico-born, San Diego-raised fighter boasts a 15-1-1 record with 13 knockouts.
