The Alas Pilipinas Women showed no mercy against Qatar on Sunday, cruising to a lopsided 25-8, 25-2, 25-9 victory over the Middle Eastern squad in the classification round of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games at the Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Gymnasium.
This was the Filipina spikers' first match in the round, after getting relegated due to a winless run in the preliminaries versus China and Kazakhstan.

Amie Provido's fingerprints were all over the Nationals' dominant victory, providing 19 points on 11 attacks, four blocks, and four aces, while Shaina Nitura also maximized her minutes on the court with a double-digit outing of 10 points which all came from spikes.
Bella Belen added nine points on seven attacks and two blocks, while Nina Ytang had four rejections on the net en route to a seven-point total.

This also marked Alas Women's first win in the continental showpiece. The highest placement they can achieve this round is ninth place, although they need to win versus their next opponents, including Mongolia.
