MANILA — Adamson University took care of business against San Beda, 26–24, 25–19, 25–19, to close the preliminary phase of the 2026 V-League Collegiate Challenge on Sunday at the Gameville Central Park in Mandaluyong City.
The Lady Falcons seized the momentum after a tight win in the opening set, dominating the next two frames despite a spirited effort from the Lady Red Spikers.
Frances Mordi soared with a match-high 17 points on 15 kills, one block, and one service ace, while also tallying seven excellent receptions.
Joy Aseo added 13 markers and nine excellent receptions, while Lhouriz Tuddao finished with nine points and seven digs.
Despite securing the top seed with a 6–1 record, assistant coach Wayne Marco and the rest of the coaching staff want the squad to stay in the moment in the semifinals as they seek a chance at back-to-back titles.
"Gusto naming ma-overcome nila 'yung pag-commit ng error after an error. And yung mentality, kasi minsan sumosobra naman yung kumpiyansa, nagla-lie low. Gusto namin ma-keep yung pacing namin hanggang matapos 'yung game," said Marco, who called the shots while head coach JP Yude was guiding their high school team in the UAAP.
San Beda finished the preliminaries with a 3–4 record, ending just one win short of a Final Four berth.
Daisy Cagas paced the Lady Red Spikers with eight points, while Khim Culanay chipped in six markers in two sets played.
