Aljur AbrenicaMANILA -- Actor Aljur Abrenica said he is not yet ready to discuss the recent statement of AJ Raval’s father, Jeric Raval, who claimed the couple already have children together.
In his interview on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" last September 30, the veteran action star explained that his earlier comment about his daughter and Abrenica having two kids was an accidental slip.
“Si father Jeric, tatay ’yan eh. He always sees what is good for everyone — tama lang iyon. Para sa akin, for now, I cannot talk about it personally. I am not yet comfortable. As an individual, I prayed for it. Nakita ko, huwag muna. Everything will be unveiled in time, sa susunod,” Abrenica said in an interview Tuesday during the Luxus Estetica Furniture media conference where he was introduced as its newest brand ambassador.
Despite keeping mum on the issue, Abrenica said he understands the elder Raval’s intentions.
“Tatay din ’yun eh. I have big respect for him. Tatay din 'yan. Alam niyo 'yung complication sa mag-ama minsan kasi di natin nakikita. Sometimes kasi, mas matanda sila sa atin, they see things we do not see. Eventually, you will see. That is how I see it,” he reasoned.
When asked about his relationship with AJ, Abrenica described it as far from perfect but full of growth.
“Wala naman perpekto — that’s what I love about it. Pag smooth na ’yan, nothing to learn. Sa biyahe namin ni AJ, what I’m proud and happy to say is walang bumitaw. It’s not smooth, pero 'yung learnings and journey, masaya talaga,” he said.
Abrenica added that he and actress Kylie Padilla remain on good terms as they continue to co-parent their children while their annulment is underway.
The former couple have two sons — Alas Joaquin and Axl Romeo.
“Goods talaga with Kylie. OK na OK kami, we have constant communication. Napaguusapan namin updates sa bata, kamusta sila. Pag aaral nila, especially sa iPad and gadgets. Di ko kaya mag-isa. Di niya rin kaya mag-isa. Naba-balance namin,” he explained. “Sa buhay walang madali. But as long as you do it with Him and His guidance."
