OPM singer and songwriter Rico Blanco marked the birthday of his late brother, King Blanco, earlier this week. In his Instagram post, the musician expressed how much he misses his younger brother and still has “many emotions” since his passing.
King would’ve been 51 years old last August 19.

Rico shared a photo of himself alongside his nieces–– one of which was the newborn child–– at the grave of his late brother. In the same post, he picked up his niece from school before they headed out to King’s final resting place.
“August 19, 2025. On your first birthday in heaven, I finally met you beautiful baby Reina,” he wrote.
The musician admitted that he still has many questions that were left unanswered since the passing of his younger brother.

“So many emotions. Still so many questions. I miss you so much, King,” he ended.
Friends and fans of Rico sent their birthday wishes and heartfelt messages in the comment section of his post. Other netizens expressed that the singer is a good uncle as he looks out for his nieces.
“Sir @ricoblanco100 for sure he is so happy to see you taking good care of his kids,” a fan wrote.
“He's looking down on you smiling! His heart must be so full,” another fan added.

It was back in May when King passed away after his battle with squamous cell carcinoma. According to Mayo Clinic, Squamous cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer and can cause serious complications if left untreated.
Rico, previously expressed that this was their “toughest battle” as a family and asked for prayers for his late brother. He shared how grateful he is for the love his brother has received throughout the years.
“You gave my dearest brother so much strength. You made him feel he wasn't alone in a battle he fought til the very end. Farewell, King 🤍 Thank you for bringing us so much love and so much joy. Kuya loves you so much,” he previously shared.
