Filipino nurse and content creator John Steven Soriano, more popularly known as Nurse Even, recently shared a glimpse of his and husband Paul Szom’s newly renovated home in the United Kingdom.
In his latest vlog, the couple gave fans an exclusive house tour, updating viewers on the progress of their home renovation after months of planning and work.
“As promised, sabi ko sa vlog ko last year, uutay-utayin kong ipagawa ang bahay and once na nagawa na ang house, may budget na, magvlog ulit ako para ipakita sa inyo ang outcome ng pinagawa namin ng asawa ko,” Nurse Even said.
He added, “This time nasa 40 to 50 percent na ang yari ang bahay.
The tour started with a look at the house exterior, which they decided to keep simple and close to the original, adding only a few plant decorations. Entering through the front door, viewers were welcomed into a hallway painted in a calming green shade.

The bathroom carried over the same aesthetic with a darker green palette to maintain the peaceful ambiance.
“Happy talaga ako mga Kunars kasi nagiba yung mood, nagiba yung environment na parang private na private (itong CR),” he said.

From the forest-themed hallway, they moved to the living room, which took inspiration from coastal homes.
Lahat, si Paul ang may idea,” Nurse Even shared.
“Kung mapapansin niyo may shelving unit. Ito yung super nahappy ako noong nakita ko kasi ang perfect niya for me kasi pwede mo palitan ang decoration. Happy talaga ako rito and look at the dingding, may mga panelling talaga siya,” he added.

Upstairs, the couple decided to keep the original look of the rooms for now, explaining that they focused their budget on other areas. However, they noted that upstairs renovations will be their next goal.

Back downstairs, the kitchen and dining area also kept their original layout but were repainted for a fresher, cleaner look.

Nurse Even also showcased Paul’s growing plant collection as a “new plantito” and their favorite purchase—a space-saving expandable dining table for entertaining guests.

One of the couple’s favorite parts of the home is the snug area—a cozy room with dark green soundproof walls, perfect for movie nights and relaxing.
Yung tipong galing akong trabaho and nilolook forward talaga siyang uwian palagi.”

Looking ahead, the couple is saving up for their backyard renovation, including plans for a fence, gazebo, and even a hot tub, once the budget allows for them.
“Yung garden, happy po kami ni Paul like I said na-happy po si Paul sa plants plants pero ang next project namin ay yung bakod and then kung kakayanin namin yung budget namin papagwaan namin ng gazebo and then hot tub and after yung mga kwarto sa taas and after noon ayon na,” he said.
Before ending the vlog, Nurse Even gave a heartfelt piece of advice to those considering buying a house.

This vlog came days before Nurse Even revealed that he and Paul had officially tied the knot in an intimate wedding in Newcastle, United Kingdom, last July 31.
“Sa hirap at ginhawa. 🤍🖤 #SzomoRiano,” Nurse Even simply wrote in a caption.
He also shared their wedding video, which featured the couple’s touching vows and special moments from their big day.
