MANILA — Maui Taylor on Monday clarified that it was their management, not the Viva Hot Babes, that decided to "cancel" the VMX Babes' guest appearance at their "Bulaklak" reunion concert.
"First thing, wala po kami power para magpa-cancel ng artist. I will clarify for the first and last time, it is a management decision. Hindi dahil sa amin iyon. We do not have the power to do that," Taylor said during the press conference for "Pantaxa Laiya Uncut" in Quezon City.
The statement comes after VMX Babe Zsara Laxamana said they were part of the initial lineup but thinks the Viva Hot Babes had their guesting pulled, saying: "Parang kinancel ata ng mga ate."

Taylor also expressed the Viva Hot Babes' hopes that younger groups can achieve success without putting others down.
In a previous interview, Laxamana said she believes the VMX Babes are "better" than the Viva Hot Babes as motivation to push themselves further.
"Sana walang tapakan. I don't think may tinapakan grupo namin para nakarating sa kung sino kami," she noted. "Hindi siya masakit, if you call us 'ates' why are you stepping on us? We are under one company, dapat magkakapatid tayo. Bakit parang feeling namin is nagagamit kami… in order for them mas makilala sila."
Taylor explained they will always be grateful to have younger artists look up to the Viva Hot Babes, but they will never appreciate being undermined.
"Ang hindi lang namin gusto ay sunod-sunod nila na press release na they are better than the Viva Hot Babes. Ano pa ba… ang dami pa lumabas," she recalled.
