Epy Quizon recently achieved a scholastic milestone, fulfilling his long-held dream of graduating from college.
In an Instagram post, Epy shared snapshots of himself posing in his graduation toga inside the premises of De La Salle University as he proudly announced the news.
The actor looked back on his journey and how he fulfilled his promise to himself to finish his education. "Dear Self, thirty years ago, in 1996, you walked the halls of De La Salle University just a thesis away from graduation. Fear and circumstance pulled you away, and survival became more important than ceremony," he recounted. "But you made a promise."
The actor reflected on what it took to achieve this feat. "Through work, loss, responsibility, and time, that promise stayed quietly in your heart. Dad didn't get to see this day. Mama, turning 80 soon, will," he remarked.
He went on: "Today, you return—not as the young man who left, but as someone steadier, stronger, and faithful to his word."
Epy remarked that the diploma is "more than paper." He highlighted: "It is a promise kept. A prayer answered. A legacy for your children. It was never too late."
He added: "Congratulations. Animo!!! You finished what you started and never did you fail. With gratitude and pride, Jeffrey 'Epy' Smith Quizon."
In another post, Epy reflected on what this scholastic feat means to his family.
"You did not just graduate. You fulfilled a promise. You honored your father’s memory. You gave your mother the gift of completion. You showed your siblings that perseverance runs in your shared blood. You proved to your children that a vow, no matter how delayed, is sacred," he remarked.
The actor went on: "This diploma is more than paper. It is integrity made visible. It is endurance framed on a wall. It is the legacy you leave [your] children and that it is never too late to finish what you start, never too late to rise again, never too late to become the person you once promised to be."
Fans online were quick to congratulate Epy.

Epy starred last year in the short film As the Moth Flies, which was an official entry to the 1st FAMAS Short Film Festival. The film was directed by emerging filmmaker Gayle Oblea.
In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, explaining why he continues to champion budding filmmakers, he said: "Dahil I was once a filmmaker na katulad ni Joel Torre na sinuportahan niya ako. Passing on the baton lang 'yun. Gumawa rin ako ng pelikula before na hindi naipalabas pero sumama sina Joel Torre, Ronnie Lazaro, Rez Cortez. Marami ring mga artista na nagbigay ng suporta sa akin as a young filmmaker. Handing baton down lang naman ‘yan."
