Hidilyn Diaz has started teaching at the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Human Kinetics.
On Instagram, the Olympic gold medalist shared snapshots from her class.
"I said YES to the calling to serve our nation through teaching weightlifting in UP CHK. I hope weightlifting will be understood and loved by many Filipinos," she wrote.
She also expressed her gratitude to those who helped her make this journey possible.
"Thank you @updchksc for giving me the opportunity to teach weightlifting in UP and to @phil.sportscommission in the leadership of Chairman Pato for donating weightlifting equipment to UP for my PE weightlifting class," she said.
Fans online were quick to react to Hidilyn's post.
"Such a gift you are!" one fan commented.
In January, according to a report on upd.edu.ph, Hidilyn completed the Teaching Effectiveness Course (TEC) held from January 12 to 15 at the UP Diliman School of Economics. The training program was designed to prepare her for her upcoming teaching role at the UP College of Human Kinetics.
The Olympic gold medalist said the course provided her with helpful insights on how to handle and manage her classes. "Good thing na naka-attend ako nitong TEC. Nagkaroon ako ng idea kung paano iyong magiging approach ko sa pag-handle ng class. I am also thankful for my CHK colleagues’ support, they were there to cheer and help me," she shared at that time.
For her teaching engagement, Hidilyn is handling two PE 2 weightlifting classes for the second semester of Academic Year 2025–2026.

The weightlifting champion first revealed her appointment in October 2025 after meeting with members of the UP-CHK College Executive Board to discuss her new role.
As she transitions into teaching, Hidilyn highlighted that the opportunity allows her to share her knowledge and experience in weightlifting with students.
"When they asked, 'Why teach?' I said, 'Because I want to keep learning, and I hope my students will learn from me too.' Designing a curriculum to promote and spread weightlifting has always been a dream," she wrote.
She went on: "I'm excited and nervous, but ready to give my best. I love weightlifting, and I'll keep doing my best to grow and share the sport I love. Can’t wait to meet my future students and co-faculty members."
