Actor Paolo Contis recently shared heartwarming moments from a special family gathering as he reunited with his daughters with former partner and EB babe Lian Paz, Xonia and Xalene, to celebrate their birthdays.
In a Facebook post on March 9, the actor posted a series of photos from their recent weekend trip to Cebu Safari & Adventure Park.
“My Birthday Girls! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you Lian, John, and my whole Cebu family for a great weekend!! 🥹🥹🥹,” Paolo wrote.
Together on the trip was Lian’s husband, John Cabahug, and their child Niña Angela, along with John’s daughter from a previous relationship, Maria Alexandra.
Photos from the trip captured joyful moments between the actor and his daughters. In one snapshot, Paolo and the girls proudly showed off their matching jackets from a global sportswear and lifestyle brand. In another, he presented vinyl collectible figures customized to resemble his daughters, a thoughtful gift that added a personal touch to the celebration.
The adventure-filled weekend also saw the group exploring the safari park’s attractions together. They observed animals such as lions, tigers, camels, zebras, and giraffes, among others while also taking part in outdoor activities around the park.
Paolo and the kids rode an all-terrain vehicle during the trip, and one of his daughters bravely tried the park’s high-adrenaline giant swing ride.
Some photos also showed the actor sharing lighthearted moments with John, suggesting a friendly relationship between the two as they posed together. In the image, Paolo could be seen holding a birthday cake as he also prepares to celebrate his own birthday on March 14.
Fans quickly took to the comments section to express their appreciation for the family’s effort to maintain a positive relationship.
“Pag butihin mo paolo. Napakalaking bagay na mabait si lian at ang hubby nya. Nakakatuwa ang ganyan blended family. God bless you guys..❤️ Happy birthday. More power to you! 🥰,” one netizen wrote.
“Happy birthday po sir Paolo Contis. Napaka saya ng mga mata niyo kitang kita na your genuinely happy na kasama mo mga anak mo.❤️,” another added.

This was not the first time Paolo spent time with Lian and her family in recent months. In October 2025, they also enjoyed a trip to a mountain resort in Dalaguete, Cebu, and in November they attended the concert of K-Pop girl group Blackpink in Bulacan, bonding over music and shared experiences.
Paolo and Lian were married in 2009 but separated in 2013. Years later, their relationship drew public attention after Lian revealed in 2018 that Paolo had not been providing support for their daughters. Their marriage was officially annulled in 2021.
Lian married John in September 2025 in Cebu City, where they now live with their blended family.
Earlier this year, Lian also opened about how she and Paolo slowly found their way back to a peaceful relationship.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, she said rebuilding their connection took time. “Actually, matagal yung process. Nagreach out siya matagal na. Quiet lang naman talaga kami kasi ayon na nga na we are out of the limelight already and hinintay ko rin na magheal ako,” Lian shared.
She also revealed that Paolo made an effort to communicate with her husband, which helped show his sincerity. “Nakita ko yung sincerity ni Paolo kasi because more than me, mas nagmemessage siya kay John, sa husband ko,” Lian said.
“He communicated with John through Instagram. Noong una hesitant pa kami because of course showbiz nga and I'm keeping the kids talaga away from the media,” she continued.
At first, Lian admitted she questioned Paolo’s intentions. When John consulted her about his messages, she initially said no to reconnecting. Over time, however, she realized forgiveness was part of her own healing that eventually led to Paolo reconnecting with his daughters.
For now, Lian said they are simply taking things slowly.
“Wala pa kami sa co-parenting. We are just enjoying the fact that we are friends right now, taking things slowly. One step at a time,” Lian shared. “Gusto talaga namin very private mga bagay so di lahat nilalabas namin sa publiko. So far, ngayon, masaya lang talaga kasi nakikita namin yung nga bata na naging masaya sila at ayon yung importante sa amin.”
Apart from Xonia and Xalene, Paolo also has another daughter, Summer Ayana, with former partner LJ Reyes whom he got separated from since 2021. LJ then married Philip Evangelista in 2023.
Paolo then went public with his relationship with Yen Santos in January 2023 and defended her against third-party allegations on his past relationship with LJ. By 2024, Paolo admitted his separation from the actress and has been single since then.
