Kris Lawrence and Katrina Halili reflected on how parenthood has transformed their lives, sharing how raising their daughter Katie has helped them grow, both as individuals and as parents.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Kris admitted that before becoming a father, he was mainly focused on pursuing his dreams, but everything changed when Katie came into his life.
“Before, we were like chasing our dreams, right? Before Katie. And when Katie came, we realized why we were chasing our dreams. It was purpose, right?" he said. "Siguro, one thing I realized about myself was I became softer. I became more patient. And not only I did become a dad, I became a better human being."
Katrina echoed the same sentiments, sharing how motherhood reshaped her perspective.
“Humaba 'yung pasensya ko. Mas grateful sa small things, mas na-appreciate mo 'yung small things,” she said. “Mas naging matibay para sa anak ko. Mas nagkaroon ng purpose sa buhay."
In the same interview, the former couple addressed rumors circulating online, making it clear that they have not rekindled their romantic relationship.
“No, we have not. Hindi kami nagkabalikan," Kris said.
The singer added, however, that he is thankful for the renewed connection they’ve built this year.
“But like I said, I’m really, really grateful for this time that we have together because honestly, when we became okay this year 2026, Katie has been probably the best that I’ve ever seen her,” he expressed.

Kris also expressed joy in seeing positive changes in their daughter following his reconnection with Katrina.
“Her smile has been more genuine. 'Yung kilos niya mas gumanda. You could just tell that she’s so much happier. We're doing this all for Katie. Where the road leads, we don’t know. But at least, it’s fine,” Kris said.
While Katie has openly wished to see them grow more affectionate toward each other, both Kris and Katrina emphasized that they are content with how things are.
“I don’t think anyone could be ready. It just happens,” Kris said,
“Sa ngayon, nag-eenjoy lang kami sa company ng bawat isa,” Katrina added.
