Kapamilya singer and songwriter Inigo Pascual shared how impactful AI has been, especially in the music industry. During the media conference for his latest single, "Ikaw at Ikaw," he asserted that lines should be drawn when it comes to creativity and AI.
AI music has been going around on social media for the past few months now–– singers have been replaced in their own songs by AI which are being played in several establishments across the world.

Inigo admitted that he has played around with AI in the past and has encountered others who have done the same. He recalled seeing AI versions of several songs being played and uploaded on streaming platforms.
“I’ve encountered people who use AI, but I’ve also encountered, not personally, but seeing on YouTube, even when I’m going to restaurants, even when I go to coffee shops, bars, even sometimes where they prefer to play AI versions of songs,” he said.
The Kapamilya singer maintained that AI will be around for a long time, and as a tool, it could be helpful in crafting one’s work, but using it to replace creativity and artistry is another point of discussion.
“My opinion is, it’s not bad–– to be honest it’s inevitable. Hindi siya mawawala, it’s already happening. It’s already a thing that everyone has access to. But, I think using it as a tool can be valid, but using it to replace other people’s work, there has to be a line that we have to draw,” he added.

He expressed how it’s never okay to play an AI version of a song as it doesn’t give justice to the artists behind the craft.
“Kasi parang hindi na talaga okay kung pineplay nila ay AI version na ng kanta ng taong nagsulat. That to me is just para siyang sampal sa mukha–– yeah, you’re listening to my song but it’s not my song,” he asserted.
“Using it as a tool could be okay, but using it to replace someone’s work is not okay,” he ended.
Meanwhile, Inigo’s "Ikaw at Ikaw" is now available for streaming on all online music platforms. This is his comeback project with ABS-CBN’s music label, Star Music.
