Actress Charlie Dizon revealed that even during the early stages of her relationship with Carlo Aquino, she already had a strong feeling that he was the man she would eventually marry.

In an interview on “Oh My Gan!” released Wednesday, Dizon opened up about how her relationship with Aquino evolved from being industry acquaintances to life partners.

“Nung bago pa lang kami sa relationship naman, nasa isip ko na siya eh... na alam ko na na makakatuluyan ko ’to,” Dizon said.

For the actress, entering the relationship already meant seeing a future with Aquino. “Kahit gaano kahirap, alam ko makakatuluyan ko ’to. May ganung feeling,” she added.

Dizon said one of the things that gave her confidence in their relationship was knowing that Aquino could take care of and support her. “Feeling ko nga may factor na parang alam kong kaya niya ako alagaan, kaya niya ako i-support,” she said.

She also described their connection as something that goes beyond words. “Yung lagi din niya sinasabi na parang nasa soul level 'yung pagkakaintindihan. Iba 'yun eh. Kahit 'di kayo magsalita, alam mo yung feelings ng isa’t isa,” Dizon shared.

The actress also recalled Aquino’s effort to build a relationship with her family, particularly her mother, who lives in the United States. According to Dizon, Aquino traveled from San Francisco to Sacramento to personally meet her family and later sought their blessing before proposing.

“Pinuntahan nga niya sa States. Kinausap niya… Tapos nagpaalam talaga siya na magpo-propose siya,” she said.

Dizon admitted that when Aquino finally proposed, one of the first things that crossed her mind was whether her parents already knew about it.

“Nung nag-propose nga siya parang natulala ako na magye-yes ba agad ako. Kasi nasa isip ko, ‘Alam kaya ito ng parents ko?’” she recalled.

Aquino immediately assured her that her family in the United States had already been informed. “So nung ganun, okay, yes. Ganun na kaagad,” Dizon said.

Asked what she loves most about her husband, Dizon pointed to Aquino’s vulnerability and nurturing nature.

“Yung pagiging vulnerable din niya pagdating sa akin… At saka 'yung pagiging maalaga niya talaga. 'Yun 'yung the best,” she said.

Away from the cameras, Dizon described Aquino as someone who enjoys doing household chores and naturally takes care of the people around him.

“Mahilig siya sa gawaing-bahay, in fairness. Parang houseman siya talaga… Feeling ko nga mas maalaga siya kaysa sa akin,” she said.

She added that Aquino’s caring nature extends not only to her but also to his family and daughter. “Alam ko na magaling siyang mag-alaga talaga, tapos very good provider talaga siya,” she said.

The couple is now working on another major milestone together: building their dream home.

“Ngayon kasi 'yung project namin ni Carlo, nagpapatayo kami ng house,” Dizon revealed, saying it has become one of their priorities this year.

Owning a home she worked hard for had long been one of her personal dreams even before marriage. “Gusto ko makapagpatayo ng sarili kong house na design na gusto ko. Yung alam kong ako yung gumastos, ako yung nagbayad, ako yung nag-work hard for it,” she said.

Dizon and Aquino are also open to having children in the future.

“Kasama 'yun sa plans,” she said, although she believes the timing is ultimately beyond their control. “Laging feeling ko si God yung nagbibigay talaga kung kailan yung tamang timing… Kung hindi pa right timing, hindi pa.”

Asked how many children she hopes to have, Dizon said she would like more than one. “Sana kahit mga two or three, ganun, kung kaya pa. Pero kahit mga two, okay na yun,” she said.

When motherhood finally comes, Dizon said she intends to embrace it fully while continuing her career in show business.

“Pag may jinump akong role, talagang todo,” she said. “Gusto ko nandito pa rin naman ako sa industry.”

Dizon said she looks up to Bianca Gonzalez for the way she balances motherhood and her career.

“Feeling ko ang galing niya mag-balance. So sana ganun din ako,” she said.
