Marking six years of marriage, OPM singer-songwriter KZ Tandingan took a moment to honor her husband, “Palagi” hitmaker TJ Monterde, with a heartfelt message celebrating their love, growth, and the life they continue to build together.
In a social media post, KZ reflected on how their relationship has changed through the years, noting that their love “isn’t the same anymore.”
“It’s more intentional now. There’s more respect, more appreciation, and more desire to see each other grow while still being each other’s biggest cheerleader along the way,” KZ said.
“Yung kilig hindi na lang dahil napaka-pogi mo at napakaganda ng puso mo. 😂😉 It’s also because of the man you’ve become,” she added.
While TJ’s career continues to grow, KZ said she has seen him become even more devoted to their marriage and their little family.
“You’ve gotten so busy, especially now that your career is steadily growing. But somehow, you’ve stepped up even more as a husband, as a dada to our fur babies, and as the leader of our little household,” she said.
“You always tell people na dati, water and electricity bills lang ang ambag mo. But honestly, from my POV, stepping up for us was never a hard decision.”
KZ stated that marrying TJ is a decision she made as she saw the kindness and goodness of TJ as a person.
“I didn’t marry you because you were already successful, mayaman, or because everything was already secure,” she stated. “I married you because I saw your heart. I saw your character. I saw a man willing to work hard, grow, and build a good life for us with love and integrity.”
“And if I was able to see those things in you, I’m pretty sure God saw them too. So I never really wondered IF it would happen. I just trusted that it was only a matter of WHEN.”
Now, as she watches TJ’s dreams gradually come to life, KZ said she feels grateful to have been by his side through the years.
“And now, seeing where you are and the man you continue to become, I’m just so thankful to God that He allowed me to be beside you through the seasons when you were still figuring things out, building yourself, and chasing your dreams.”
“I got to witness so much of it happen. And sa totoo lang, there’s something so special about being able to say, “Nandun ako nung pangarap pa lang lahat to.” I’m so proud of you. Proud of us. And so excited for all the things we still get to build together,” she continued.
Greeting her husband, KZ added: “6 years married, 11 years so far, and I’d still choose you. Palagi. I love you. Happy Anniversary, my Sunflower. 🌻 also, happy birthday PALAGI DUET VERSION 😭🫶🏼.”
KZ and TJ first tied the knot at The Farm at San Benito in Batangas in 2020. Because of the pandemic, their parents were unable to attend their first wedding ceremony.
In August 2023, the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary with another ceremony, this time surrounded by their parents.
On his end, TJ marked the occasion by sharing another milestone that holds special meaning for their marriage: buying the lot where they plan to build their future home.
The “Palagi” hitmaker recalled an earlier interview where he opened up about how he felt during the early years of their marriage, when KZ was the bigger earner between the two.
“Noong time na iyon I had to admit na dapat parang feeling ko an ako iyong provider pero bakit siya yung nagpoprovidefor us? At that point, shainere ko na sa prayer ko na ‘Lord hanggang tubig, kuryente na lang ba ako?” he recalled.

Three years after sharing that prayer, TJ said he was finally able to turn what once felt like a burden into something he could be proud of.
"Three years later, here we are and I just bought KZ the lot of our future dream home. Dito itatayo ang future bahay ni Misis Monterde. Sobrang dream namin itong lot na ito,” he said
“Nandito na siya. I’m really excited for this season… I just want to encourage everyone and sana not to limit God's plans for you.”
