ABS-CBN Studios and iWant’s original series, Love At First Spike, just earned a nomination at the 2026 International Emmy Awards. The coming of age series was announced as part of the Kids: Live Action category of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences earlier this week.
The whole cast and production team behind the International Emmy-nominated series expressed their joy and pride on their respective social media accounts.

Ivan Andrew Payawal, the director of Love At First Spike, shared the good news on his Instagram account.
“It happened again. Unbelievable!!!!!” he wrote.
Stars of the hit iWant original series reposted the director’s post and added their own messages of gratitude. Kapamilya actress Reign Parani expressed how she’s on cloud nine as the show where she had her first-ever lead role became an International Emmy nominee.
“Can you believe it? This role is part of an Emmy nominated show. I was crying last night over this career… and today was proof from God that if you only believe and try… IT. WILL. HAPPEN. Hindi ko naman nais sumikat ang gusto ko lang naman ay magtrabaho… umarte, makabasa ng iba’t-ibang storya… at tulungan ko yung pamilya ko… pero eto? Thank you Lord… maraming maraming salamat,” she shared.
The other lead stars of the show––Sean Tristan, River Joseph, and Emilio Daez–– also expressed their happiness about the nomination.
“Love At First Spike is nominated for an Emmy!!” Sean wrote.
Fans of the show congratulated the cast and crew in the comment section of their posts. Other netizens applauded the show for breaking stereotypes and making it globally known through the International Emmy nomination.
Love At First Spike is an iWant original series about a former basketball team captain (played by Emilio) who finds himself in a situation where he joins the boys’ volleyball team known for its queer members.
