Gabrielle Henry, former Miss Universe Jamaica, shared more details about the things that happened after her fall from the stage and the legal actions she’s taking against the Miss Universe Organization (MUO). In an interview with American show, Good Morning America, earlier this week, the beauty queen expressed how she had no recollection of the fall and maintained that she didn’t trip–– contrary to what netizens believed.
Gabrielle fell down a hole during the Miss Universe competition back in 2025 in Thailand. She was given emergency care immediately after the fall and the MUO assured that they covered her expenses.

The former Miss Universe Jamaica recalled that she was just following the instructions given to her by the people during the time she was walking down the stage.
“I looked at the cameras as we were instructed to do. I was following what we had rehearsed. I stopped when I was told to stop, I looked at the cameras. Then, when I was instructed to go, I turned to the left which I was told to. In that moment those dreams shattered,” she recalled.
As she fell into the hole, she revealed that she doesn’t have any recollection of what happened and woke up with her mother by her side.
“The first memory I have is that of waking up to my mother who was looking down on me. It was the first time that I have ever seen my mother so concerned. As soon as I saw my mom, I blacked out again,” she shared.
Gabrielle suffered several injuries which included a brain injury–– something she called one of the most traumatizing things that happened to her.
“There’s almost an out of body experience, a sense of disassociation from oneself. It took me so long to get back to that place where I said this is my body, this is who I am––I’m still here,” she maintained.

Despite receiving treatment for the injuries, Gabrielle admitted that there are still nights where she is unable to sleep because of how severe the pain is for her.
The former Miss Universe Jamaica then shared how she hasn’t heard much from MUO following her return to her home country where she continued therapy and treatments with medical expenses piling up.
“I do think it could’ve been avoided. I think that proper measures could have and should have been put in place. It was the responsibility of those who had organized the stage, who had put in the lighting to ensure that the protective mechanisms were also there, that the hole was barricaded or covered,” she said.
“I just hope to continue healing, continue growing, and continue along the path that has been set out for me,” she ended.
