Kapuso star Dennis Trillo seems to have broken his silence following the release of Patrick Garcia’s interview earlier this week. In his Facebook post, the celebrity father maintained that while he is not a fan of bashing, he is grateful that Jazz was remembered because of it.
Jazz is the son of Patrick and Jennylyn Mercado who has been co-parented by Dennis for several years now.

In his interview with Ogie, Patrick shared that he wanted to speak up and share “the truth” because of the bashing that his daughter, Michelle, has been receiving on social media.
“One day, my daughter, si Michelle, went up to me and said ‘Daddy, I’m sad because every time there’s good news about me, in the comment section, it’s all bashing and they’re bashing me because of you,’” Patrick recalled.
While Patrick wanted to protect his daughter, he told her that it’s not a guarantee that the bashing and negative comments will stop after speaking up.
Apart from telling his side of the story, the celebrity father went on to share how he is as a father–– equally loving all his children including Jazz, despite claiming he has not seen his eldest son since 2017.
“When it comes to fatherhood, I love all my children equally–– super. Lahat sila mahal ko including Jazz. Actually, the first time I saw Jazz, you know there’s something different with him. It was noticeable the first time I met him and the more I wanted to love him because he was different. The more I wanted to get to know him, the more I wanted to take care of him, and I was given the chance naman during that time,” he said.
Patrick maintained that he is grateful for Dennis as well who has been a father figure to Jazz.
“Masaya ako kasi may nagmamahal kay Jazz… Pag may nakikita akong maraming nagmamahal kay Jazz, nakakatuwa… I’m happy for that and I commend that. I like seeing that,” he shared.
After Patrick’s interview, Dennis made a short post on his Facebook account seemingly referring to the actor. Netizens expressed their support towards him and their family as they flooded the comment section with positive remarks.
“Hindi ako pabor sa bashing, pero salamat at naalala mo si Jazz dahil sa pag bash sa anak mo.
O spread L❤️VE not Hate,” Dennis wrote.
Meanwhile, Jennylyn’s agency has spoken on her behalf about the interview and maintained that the actress will not be entertaining any interviews about it in the future.
“Everyone is entitled to share their story on whatever platform they choose. In this case, Jennylyn would rather not share her side of the story out of respect for the privacy and peace of mind of both her family and Patrick’s,” Aguila Entertainment said.
