MANILA — The award-winning movie "Sunshine" finally premiered in Philippine cinemas on Wednesday, July 23.
While her movie will face off against Marvel Studios' "Fantastic Four," lead actress Maris Racal is optimistic that "Sunshine" will thrive in the box office.
"I am very optimistic at the moment. I am very proud of this film kasi napakatapang, ang sensitive ng topic na tina-tackle, tungkol ito sa mga kababaihan, sa mga pangarap ng mga babae," said Racal, who graced some screenings of the movie on its first day.

Director Tonet Jadaone also believed that the "word of mouth" from the early viewers will drumbeat "Sunshine" to casual movie goers and regular film buffs.
Racal caught a few sold out regular scheduled screenings at SM North EDSA and SM Manila on Wednesday, personally thanking fans and friends who organized block screenings.
"I feel so full of love sa puso ko ngayon kasi ang daming sumuporta, kahit maulan at may bagyo pinanood pa rin nila. I am very happy, and overwhelmed din ako sa emotions. Isang taon din nila itong hinintay," she said.
Jadaone added, "Super happy kasi ang dami naming sold out screenings so nakakatuwa.
