Bianca Umali shared how she landed her role in the upcoming movie Always Yours, Never Mine.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Bianca said she was immediately excited when the project was offered to her, especially since it marks her first movie with Star Cinema.
"Sila po ay nag-reach out to the management and also they presented the project to me offering the role of Gaea. And I was super excited to hear about what the project was about, and to be able to work in a new environment, with new people. And to be directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana alone is really something very huge for me and also it's my first Star Cinema film," she said.
Reflecting on the experience of working with the film outfit for the first time, as well as with Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto, Bianca said she has learned to embrace the uncertainty that comes with taking on new opportunities.
"I realized how the journey of not knowing what is going to happen to you is something that is very exciting to me. When you come to that level where both being scared and being excited is at the same level, then I think God is pushing you to being something better of who you were yesterday," she stated.
The actress went on to emphasize the importance of the journey and the growth that comes with it.
"And it's always the journey that counts. More than the destination, it's the journey that you look forward to because that's where you grow, that's where you change, and that's where you become a better person," she remarked.
As an actor, Bianca said she was immediately thrilled when she learned that she would be working with Joshua and Julia, noting how collaborations between artists from different networks and management groups have become more possible in recent years.
"The first thing that I thought of when I knew it was them, hindi ako magda-dalawang isip to really dive deep into the character and to build connection with the both of them because they are both good people and I love my experience working with the two of them," she said.

Behind the camera, Bianca said she also appreciated the relaxed atmosphere among the cast while maintaining a high level of professionalism once filming began.
"Off-cam, we were all so very chill actually. It didn't feel that we were working and also at the same time 'yung level of professionalism where you know when the scene starts we are all tuned to direk Cathy, and we are all in line with ano 'yung script namin. And I think what I value the most of being on set with the both of them is 'yung level of support. I think not all actors kasi din you get that amount of support from. And being the actor I am today, I do value collaboration and support all the more because I do the same to my co-actors," she stated.
According to its official synopsis, Always Yours, Never Mine follows two people "across thirty years and different versions of themselves [who] keep finding each other at the edges of their lives. Yet every reunion arrives with a choice, and every choice leads them toward one life while taking them farther from another."
