As P-Pop continues to make its mark locally and internationally, KAIA sees the growth of the Filipino music scene as motivation to keep pushing forward.
The five-member Filipino girl group is composed of Angela, Charlotte, Sophia, Alexa and Charice.
Speaking exclusively with PUSH ABS-CBN, KAIA's leader Angela shared what continues to motivate the group as they work toward greater feats as artists.
"It's how P-Pop is continuously thriving -- and also OPM as a whole," Angela said. "All the artists are releasing new music, and it really inspires us as artists. And of course, our fans ZAIAs, they are our biggest inspiration to whatever we do."
With P-pop continuing to evolve, KAIA also hopes to contribute to the movement through their own music and by showing audiences the different faces of the group.
"We really want to show a lot of sides of KAIA. As P-Pop grows right now, we want to also contribute to it. Kami po, we are just going to work harder and keep releasing new songs."
Their plans to contribute to the local music scene have also extended beyond releasing music, with KAIA taking opportunities to bring Filipino songs and P-pop to international audiences.
Just recently, KAIA led the MadeIN Philippines showcase at Music Matters Live in Singapore on October 3, presented by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. They were joined by fellow P-Pop girl group, PIX!E.
Performing at Clarke Quay, KAIA brought some of their fan-favorite tracks, including "Hulog" and "Dalawa," to the Singaporean audience.
KAIA and PIX!E also performed at the Singapore edition of the P-Pop Music & Culture Caravan at Lyf Funan on October 4, giving them another opportunity to showcase Filipino pop music abroad.
Their international experience is not new. In 2024, KAIA represented the Philippines at the ASEAN-Korea Music Festival in Laos, further allowing the group to bring their music to audiences outside the country.
KAIA first entered the P-pop scene with their pre-debut single "KAYA" before officially debuting in 2022 with "BLAH BLAH."
