As OPM chief and “ASAP” mainstay Ogie Alcasid celebrates his birthday on August 27, the all-star Sunday afternoon party honors him with a magnificent and memorable birthday tribute during “ASAP XP in Australia,” where he teams up with the New Gen Divas to breathe new life into some of his timeless classic hits!
The set begins with Ogie's solo performance of "Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka," after which he expresses his gratitude to everyone who has continued to listen to his music through the years, especially today’s younger generation. He then introduces Carmelle Collado, Elha Nympha, Esang de Torres, Kai Montinola, and Alexa Ilacad, who all look stunning and glowing in their pink and peach gowns as they take the stage.
Alexa is the first to showcase her vocal prowess with “Mahal Kita Walang Iba,” followed by Kai, who captivates everyone with her heartfelt rendition of “Ikaw Lamang.”
Esang gets the live audience singing along and waving their hands in the air with her performance of “Ikaw Sana,” while Elha likewise impresses with her powerful rendition of “Kung Mawawala Ka.” Ogie, meanwhile, is caught on camera teary-eyed as he takes in every moment of their performances, looking like a proud father watching his talented and amazing daughters shine onstage.
The last New Gen Diva to perform solo is Carmelle, who wows the spectators with her astounding version of "Kailangan Kita," particularly when she hits the song's soaring high notes. She is eventually joined by her fellow new gen divas and Ogie himself as they bring the special tribute to a heartwarming close by singing the chorus of “Kailangan Kita” together.
