As her secret investigation continues to put Gabo (Coco Martin) and the people of Ginintuang Lupa at risk, Sam (Julia Montes) devises a plan to stop the Zafras from tracking her down—by making everyone believe that she’s already dead.
With Gabo still unconscious after being severely beaten by the Zafras’ henchmen, Sam sneaks out of the Magtibay residence. She brings a gun and the red leather jacket she wore the night she arrived in Ginintuang Lupa, then heads to the same bridge where she jumped off and plunged into the river to escape from the Zafras a few nights earlier. She throws the jacket into the water and shoots it five times before returning to the house.
The following day, as the entire household checks on Gabo, Rudy (Joey Marquez) thanks Sam for taking good care of his son. Putting on her pretense as Gloria, she tells him that it’s nothing, as she’s only doing her duty as Gabo’s wife. Rudy replies that his son is indeed lucky to have her as his wife.
While Rudy, Mameng (Ces Quesada), and Dante (Julio Diaz) talk about her in the dining area, Sam sincerely tells Gabo through her thoughts, “Sana paggising mo, maayos na ang pakiramdam mo. Huwag kang mag-alala, Gabo, ako naman ang babawi sa’yo. Ako naman ang mag-aalaga sa’yo.”
