Love comes in different forms. It begins with self-acceptance, then extends to family, friends, or a special someone. It can feel like butterflies in your stomach or the courage to stay through life’s highs and lows. For some, love is pure joy; for others, it’s sacrifice. What’s clear is that love refuses to fit into a single definition.
For the campers of “Sparks Camp” Season 4, that complexity was put into words when they answered the question, “What does love mean to you?” Their thoughtful responses touched on different aspects of love, many of which are relatable to us all.
First to speak up was Camper Ian, who turned the spotlight on love’s imperfections. For them, love means facing our flaws and embracing inevitable change.
“There are different kinds of love. You have to be open about everything else,” they explained.
Camper Beej, meanwhile, finds the essence of love in peace. For him, it’s about consistency and having someone who isn’t afraid to call him out when he makes mistakes.Next to speak was Camper Gio, who sees love as a matter of choice. “Love means choosing each other, but also choosing yourself,” he said.
For Camper Tommy, love can be found in many places—from the comfort of food and the intimacy we share with others to the sense of connection we find in spirituality. Camper Howie shared a similar perspective, saying, “Love is being accepted for who you are and having someone who provides a safe space where you can be yourself.”
For Camper Jury, love starts from within. “I feel like, kailangan mahal mo muna ‘yung sarili mo bago makapagbigay ka ng love sa bibigyan mo ng love,” he said.
“Love, for me, is not having to explain yourself,” said Camper Joaquin, adding that being understood is what matters most in love. Camper EJ echoed the sentiment, saying that love is finding comfort in someone’s presence. “It just feels like home, or you’re comfortable just being with that person,” he said.
Camper Michael was the last to share his perspective, viewing love as a necessity. “Regardless of whatever form it takes in one’s life, love is something na any of us can never live without,” he said.
The campers’ different takes on love reflect their unique personalities, and we can’t wait to see how they’ll navigate their feelings and discover romance in “Sparks Camp” Season 4.
